Our Coaches

Brenna Pruss - VTA Assistant Director

Responsible for Clinics and Player Development - “Coach B” grew up in Dade City, FL and attended Wesley Chapel High School where she was a four-year standout on her varsity team. She was also a powerful player throughout her six years of club ball. In 2004, her years of dedication throughout high school and club led her to the Space Coast when she was awarded a volleyball scholarship with Division II Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne. She played as an outside hitter and graduated with a major in Psychology and a minor in Business Management. After graduation, she coached high school volleyball in Pasco County for three years and Brevard for one. Brenna began coaching with Volleytech Academy in February of 2016 and has been developing athletes through all programs offered through VTA ever since. She is passionate and excited to continue growing the club and its athletes.

Avery Tucker/Empire Sports Performance

Responsible for speed, agility and conditioning training program- Avery is a Certified Speed and Agility Coach with Empire Sports Performance and has over 4 years of experience in the Brevard County and Orlando area.  Besides working with VTA for the past 3 club seasons, his experiences include coaching athletes of all ages from youth to prep, many of which received collegiate scholarships.  Avery has individually coached professional athletes with the National Women's Soccer League, Major League Baseball, Mixed Martial Arts, NFL, and worked alongside Olympic Athletes.  Before following his passion in athlete performance training, Avery played 4 years of varsity basketball at Satellite High School and had a collegiate career at Indian River State College.

Frances Reyes  - Head Coach 18 Premier

Coach Frances grew up in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. She began her volleyball career playing club when she was just 5 years old and received private training until the age of 17. During her Sophomore year of High School she received a scholarship to play as the Outside Hitter for the #1 ranked High School volleyball team on the island. She won the equivalent of 2 State Championships, and was voted as Captain of her club team for two consecutive years. She participated in multiple tournaments in the United States including the Disney Classic and AAU. She also received a scholarship to play as Libero for the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico and then moved on to play as the starting Libero for a Semi-Pro team on the island. This is Frances’ first season with VTA.

Renae Watson - Assistant Coach 18 Premier

This is Renae's second year with VTA

Katrina Arthurs - Head Coach 17 Elite

Katrina is a small business owner of a landscaping company and also a full-time mom to two kids.  Katrina started coaching six years ago in 2013 in Creal Springs, Illinois.  She started coaching as an assistant at Adams School, after her second season she was named the Head Coach.  Katrina helped the Adams Wildcats become the most successful they have ever in program history in the 106 years of the school.  In her last season there the team had an impressive 28-4 record with an undefeated State Championship title season.  Katrina also coached club for two years at SISVBC where her team finished in the top teams in the area.

    Prior to coaching Katrina played 12 years of volleyball in Dallas, Texas and Fenton, Michigan.  While playing volleyball her team won Sectional Champions during her Senior Year.  Katrina received All-Sectional Second Team honors as setter.  Also she received Best Server Award with a 98% serving percentage for the season.  After high school Katrina attended a Mott College where she continued to play volleyball and attend nursing school played three seasons before having to leave due to illness.  Katrina will be in her second year coaching at Melbourne High School.  Her future goals include being able focus all of her time and energy full time on volleyball. 

Cassidy Piere-Rene - Assistant Coach 17 Elite

Connor Tetting - Head Coach 16 Premier

Connor has lived in Brevard County his whole life. Outside of VTA, he works for Brevard County Parks and Recreation running the athletics programs in North Brevard.  After running the youth volleyball program, Connor was recruited by the Space Coast Jr/Sr High School Athletic Director to coach their Freshman and JV teams. During his three-year tenure, Connor has led the Freshman to a record of 20-4 and the JV to 13-1. This is Connor's second season with VTA.

Erin Arbour - Assistant Coach 16 Premier

Erin grew up in Stuart, FL where her team was the 2015 Class A State Champions. She attended the 2017 Junior Olympics was the libero at Eastern Florida State College for two years and is now playing at Florida Institute of Technology.  Erin is majoring in Psychology and plans to work in the field of military psychology to help people with PTSD. This is Erin’s third season of coaching with VTA.

Mariah Parker - Head Coach 15 Elite

Mariah grew up in Lake County, Florida where she began her volleyball career. She played through middle school and high school as a middle blocker and outside hitter.  Mariah is currently earning her bachelor’s degree in Forensic Psychology.  Her goal is to finish with her Doctorate and work for either the FBI or local police department.  This is her third season coaching with VTA.

Sarah Langenbach - Assistant Coach 15U Elite Team

Sarah has lived in Brevard County her entire life, starting her volleyball career at the age of 13. She played for West Shore Jr/Sr High School, earning 3 Varsity letters as well as several awards. In her senior year of high school, Sarah was named as a Florida Today Athlete of the Week, and she also led the Cape Coast Conference in digs, totaling over 500 in one season. Sarah is a 2 year Alumni of Volleytech Academy. She helped lead both of her teams to numerous wins and a bid to the 2019 Nationals Tournament. Sarah is now playing volleyball for Eastern Florida State College and this will be her first season coaching with VTA. 

Brenda Parrish - Head Coach 14U Elite Team

Brenda was born and raised in Wisconsin. She has been living in Florida with her husband and their daughter since 2013.  Brenda started playing volleyball at an early age.  Her senior year she received First Team All-Conference honors and her team won the conference championship.  Brenda's passion for athletics and youth guided her to focus on her academics, graduating with a B.S in Physical & Health Education and later a M.S. in Recreational Therapy. She has over 14 years of experience in coaching a variety of sports to include basketball, volleyball, sled hockey, wheelchair basketball, and wheelchair softball. This marks Brenda’s third season coaching with VTA and she is the Freshman Coach at Satellite High School.

Maddy Campbell - Assistant Coach 14 Elite

Grace Barnak - Assistant Coach 12U

Grace has been a volleyball athlete since the age of 10. She started playing competitively in Kansas as a 4th grader. After transitioning to Florida for middle school she continued playing year round in school and for clubs that competed in USAV and AAU Junior Volleyball. Grace is a 3 year Alumni of Volleytech Academy and a graduate of Melbourne Central Catholic High School as a Varsity Athlete. While at MCC, Grace earned the Scholar Athlete Award. After making the tough decision to turn down a fantastic offer to play at the college level here in Florida, Grace decided it was time to focus on her education and internship offers. Currently, she is at Eastern Florida State and working on her application for the Disney College Internship. Grace was named as a 2019 AAU Academic All American after participating in AAU Nationals in Orlando. She is excited to be coaching young athletes in the sport she loves!

Kylee Whiteleather - Beach Coach

For most of her club career she played with USA South volleyball club as an outside hitter. She played for Riverdale high school and while  there she became a 3-year Varsity letter winner, a 2-time All-conference player, Second team all county, honorable mention.  Kylee  broke the school record for most kills in a regular season (326) , was the RHS tournament MVP,  High school beach volleyball state championship runner-up (2016)and was a member of the National Honor Society and a four-time scholar athlete. Her beach career began at age fourteen when she began receiving some training and playing many summer tournaments. In the summer of 2016 she received 3rd place in Juniors 16s division points for the entire dig the beach tour. In the summer of 2018 for women’s division AA she was ranked 10th in the nation for points in Volleyamerica tournaments. After graduating high school in 2017 she received a full scholarship to play indoor at a junior college (St. Petersburg college) where she got the chance to play in the national tournament her freshmen year and received an award as NJCAA player of the week during her sophomore season. While in St. Petersburg she trained and coached beach volleyball very seriously with Bevolley academy which is run by professionals until she moved on to play collegiate beach volleyball at Florida Southern College,  after getting her Associates degree in December 2018. She is now working on her Bachelors in psychology and secondary education while playing sand volleyball only for the Mocs. Last season she occasionally played at No. 1 seed but mostly No.2 seed for the FSC Mocs and had a winning season against some good competitive schools. When she’s not playing volleyball she loves to be with family being the 6th born out of 9 children. She hopes after graduating to teach and coach volleyball at the high school level and to some day run her own beach volleyball club. She also will pursue her own beach volleyball career in hopes of playing in the AVP tour. She enjoys being around the people she loves, ice cream, church, and the beach!
